One of Southwest Florida's premier events, ClamJam of Southwest Florida Seafood and Music Festival, kicks off Saturday at the German American Club on PIne Island Road in Cape Coral.

The special two-day event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on opening day, Jan. 26, and then from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27.

ClamJam of Southwest Florida Seafood & Music Festival will feature more than 120 craft vendors and specially selected food vendors offering fresh local seafood.

"Right off the boats of our local fishermen," organizer Pat Burman said of the local seafood. "Everything is locally harvested - clams, shellfish and other seafood dishes will be offered. Also there's a great selection of foods for those who can't or don't eat seafood."

Two full days of live entertainment from blues, funk, rock, country and folk will feature such artists as Ayla Lynn, Jason Bonham, 24 Carat, The Galaxy Band, Brother Love Three and Hatley Band. (See the event website for band bios and schedules.)

There will also be fishing and boating seminars by Capt. Terry Fisher from Fish Face Charter, and kayaking seminars by Bob Fraser from Saltwater Kayak Fishing Guide.
