Beverly R. Hodge, 73, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 24, 2017 at her home in Bokeelia. Beverly moved to Florida in 1981 and has called Pine Island her home ever since.
Beverly was born in Casey, Illinois and spent her childhood in central Illinois. She graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute and was a successful entrepreneur and business woman for more than 20 years. Most recently she worked as a real estate agent on Pine Island for 21st Century Sunbelt Realty.
Beverly was an active member in the Pine Island community and volunteered for several organizations including the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, Greater Pine Island Civic Association, Matlacha Hookers and Pine Island FISH. She was also a member of the Pine Island Community Church where she served on the board as well as volunteering at the church store. Beverly was pre-deceased by her husband Bill Hodge, who passed away in 2012. Beverly and Bill were beloved members of the Blue Crab Key community since 1985. She is survived by her brother, Ron Paul of Eagle, Idaho and her constant companion, her dog, Iffie.
A memorial service will be held at the Pine Island Community Church, at 5320 Doug Taylor Circle, St. James City, on April 6, 2017 at 1 p.m. An additional celebration of Beverly's life will be held at Blue Crab Key at a later date.
